About us

Caterpillar Clubhouse is a family owned and run Preschool and aftercare centre established in 2010. We aim to provide young children aged 3 month – Grade R with a safe and loving environment where they can learn and explore through fun. Our staff are all first aid and CPR trained, experienced/ qualified, passionate about children and aim to provide children with the best learning experiences they can.

Caterpillar Clubhouse is a ‘home away from home’ where learning takes place exploring and having a fun time.

CURRICULUM

Caterpillar clubhouse focuses on the holistic development of the child – we understand that each child is unique and possesses unique qualities.

Caterpillar clubhouse follows the ELDA curriculum for children aged 3 months to Grade RR – we also use Reggio Emilia inspired activities which develops the child. The Grade R children follow the CAPS curriculum, Reggio based activities and time2read program. Our baby class has specially designed lesson plans to provide multi-sensory experiences and holistic development that is age appropriate from 3 months to 12 months.

The ELDA curriculum focuses on developing the child as a whole and is made up of the following learning areas

  • Well-being
  • Identity and belonging
  • Communication
  • Exploring mathematics
  • Creativity
  • Knowledge and understanding of the world

Progress reports are sent out on a termly basis so that you as parents can see the progress your child is making.

Baby class 1:3 (max 5 babies)

Ladybug class (1-2 years) 1:6 (max 12)

Firefly class (2-3 years) 1:7 (max 14)

Bumble bee class (3-4 years) 1:12 (max 14)

Dragonfly class (4-5 years) 1:12 (MAX 14)

Caterpillar class (Grade R 5-6 yrs.) 1:12 (max 12)
